BSL accompanies the society to prevent COVID-19 epidemic

(BSL) – In response to the appeal of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front that the entire population participated in supporting, preventing and fighting against the Covid-19 epidemic, BIDV – SuMi TRUST Leasing Co., Ltd has taken the initiative in developing the plan mobilizing departments and all staffs to join in supporting the prevention of Covid-19.

Since the beginning of 2020, the global economy has been greatly affected by the outbreak of the coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19). As of April 22, 2020, the world has more than 1 million infected people. In Vietnam, COVID-19 has also caused significant impacts on economy and society.

Facing the disease situation, Vietnam Government has many different solutions to prevent and control disease and support people and enterprises to reduce the negative impacts of the disease. On March 13, 2020, State Bank has issued Circular 01/2020/TT-NHNN to support enterprises affected by the disease, which facilitates debt rescheduling for enterprises when the principal and/or interest arising from lending, financial leasing activities or during the period from 23/01/2020 to the day after 03 months after the day on which the Prime Minister declares the end of the Covid-19 outbreak.

On March 17, following the call of the President and the Prime Minister, Viet Nam Fatherland Front Central Committee held a ceremony to mobilize the entire population to support the prevention and control of COVID-19. In response to this call, and at the same time, in order to raise the spirit of solidarity and affection of Vietnamese people, BIDV – SuMi TRUST Leasing Co., Ltd (“BSL”) donated VND 40 million to the Viet Nam Fatherland Front Central Committee for contributing COVID-19 Prevention Fund.

Although newly put into operation and having limited resources, however, BSL is always ready to collaborate with Government in the fight against the COVID-19 disease to protect health and safety of the community. We hope that the contributions of BSL, together with other businesses and organizations, will make a combined force with the Vietnamese Government, to firmly overcome this difficult time.

Right from the very first days when COVID-19 disease appeared in Vietnam, BSL has actively implemented many COVID-19 prevention and control measures at our Head Office and branches, which includes: updating information continuously, guiding employees on disease prevention methods, providing free masks and disinfectant hand sanitizer at workplace; restrict or suspend unnecessary activities and meetings; crowd-limiting; apply remote work or alternative work schedules for employees to prevent cross-contamination within the Company.

In addition, BSL Executive Board also encourages all employees, with a voluntary spirit, to actively participate, contribute to COVID-19 Prevention Fund at the call of the Viet Nam Fatherland Front Central Committee, the Government and State Bank, etc.

In response to this call, BSL’s employees have voluntarily deducted part of their salary to contribute to COVID-19 Prevention Fund. The total amount of over VND 20 million has been given to the Trade Union of Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam (BIDV) to contribute to the prevention and control of Covid-19. BIDV Trade Union has supported grassroots trade unions to buy epidemic prevention equipment with a total budget of over VND 13 billion.
