BSL handed over medical equipment and supplies to support the frontline against the COVID-19 pandemic in HCMC
On August 17, representatives of BSL HCMC Branch handed over medical equipment and supplies to support the frontline against the COVID-19 pandemic at COVID-19 Treatment Field Hospital in Hoc Mon.

Since the 4th wave of COVID-19 swept over HCMC on April 27, virus cases have been rising in the city due to the spread of Delta variant, regardless of its long period of social distancing accompanied with more intense prevention and mitigation. The city’s healthcare system and its people’s daily life, safety and health therefore are at high risk. Thousands of medical workers and volunteers are willing to help the city battle coronavirus, regardless of higher-risk exposure to the virus.

As hospital employees and care providers on the front lines battle the coronavirus pandemic, the rest of us always search for ways to help provide the supplies and support they need. Hence, BSL HCMC Branch decided to hand over medical supplies to support the frontline against the epidemic at COVID-19 Treatment Field Hospital in Hoc Mon.

Hoc Mon district is one of the early COVID-19 outbreak areas in HCMC due to the outbreak of new cases at Hoc Mon Market. Hoc Mon COVID-19 Treatment Field Hospital plays an important role in the collection, screening, examination, isolation, treatment of cases of COVID-19 patients. The hospital has 700 beds and 610 medical staff.

Being allocated upon the strong directive of the Director of BSL HCMC Branch, supported medical supplies for the hospital were well-prepared.

All medical supplies meet the epidemic prevention standards according to the regulations and instructions of the Ministry of Health. On the morning of August 17, the representatives departed heading to Hoc Mon COVID-19 Treatment Field Hospital.

During the trip, all members strictly followed the 5K (in Vietnamese) Khau trang (facemask)- (Khu khuan) disinfection- (Khoang cach) distance- (Khong tu tap) no gathering – (Khai bao y te) health declaration to ensure safety. At the hospital, we handed over items such as level 3 protective clothing, N95 masks, disposable gloves and 70-degree alcohol to the hospital.

On behalf of the Board of  Executives and all employees of BSL, Mr. Dang Thanh Hung – Director of BSL HCMC Branch expressed his sincere thanks to the medical staff and volunteers fighting the epidemic day and night at the hospital. We hope that those medical supplies will partly support the need at the field hospital.

All staff of BSL HCMC Branch shall commit to fully comply with the 5K, strictly observe epidemic prevention and measures to protect the health and safety of themselves and their families, as well as join the city to quickly bring HCMC back to a new normal state in its cheerful, enthusiastic, and dynamic atmosphere.
