The Vietnam Financial Leasing Association (VILEA) currently has 7 official members, which are financial leasing companies. Throughout its operation, the Association has played an active role in bridging communication with regulatory agencies, providing feedback, criticism, and recommendations for amending policy mechanisms related to financial leasing activities. The Association also serves as a platform for its members to develop businesses and protect the legitimate rights and interests of each member.

One of the significant contributions of the Association is providing input in the construction and revision of legal documents related to credit institutions in general and the financial leasing sector in particular. Additionally, the Association actively participates in providing opinions during consultation processes conducted by the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI).

Furthermore, the Association has gathered opinions from its members to propose recommendations to relevant ministries in order to address legal inconsistencies and conflicts in regulatory documents, such as regulations on electronic invoices, VAT on financial leasing services, tax refunds when purchasing assets domestically for leasing in export processing zones, and license plate issuance according to Circular 58/2020/TT-BCA of the Ministry of Public Security. However, some challenges are still being addressed and resolved.

The Association has also closely collaborated with partner associations and international organizations such as WWF and FFV to support the organization of seminars on green and sustainable development trends and responsible business management.

During the Congress, Mr. Nguyen Thieu Son, CEO of BIDV-SuMi TRUST Financial Leasing Company (BSL), was elected as the Chairman of the Association. Alongside him, Mr. Nguyen Tuan Anh, Chairman of the Management Board of Vietinbank Leasing, was elected as the Vice Chairman. Mr. Nguyen Trung Ha, Chairman of the Management Board of Vietcombank Leasing, was appointed as the Head of the Inspection Committee. Mr. Pham Xuan Hoe, the Secretary-General of the 4th term, was re-elected as the Secretary-General for the 5th term. Mr. Luu Huynh, Chairman of the Management Board of Sacombank Leasing, was appointed as a member of the Executive Committee.

Mr. Nguyen Thieu Son has many years of experience and has made significant contributions in the financial leasing sector. Currently, he holds the position of CEO at BSL and has achieved notable success in developing and expanding the company’s operations.

As the Chairman of the Association, Mr. Nguyen Thieu Son is expected to work together with the Executive Committee to further promote the sustainable development of the financial leasing industry in Vietnam.

The new term of the Vietnam Financial Leasing Association will focus on enhancing communication about financial leasing services to the business community, strengthening cooperation with industry partners, and making efforts to address legal and policy issues related to financial leasing activities.

With the unity of its members and the Executive Committee, the Vietnam Financial Leasing Association hopes to make positive contributions to the sustainable development of the Vietnamese economy.
