50 years of Vietnam – Japan Relations: Towards the Future

September 21, 2023 marks an important milestone for the strong diplomatic relationship between Vietnam and Japan. Since the establishment of formal diplomatic relations, the friendly and cooperative ties between the two countries have continuously developed in various fields, including economics, politics, culture, and sports, from national leadership to the people of both nations.

The commemoration of the 50th anniversary of Vietnam-Japan diplomatic relations (1973-2023) provides an opportunity to look back on the Vietnam-Japan relationship from the past until now, and to build a foundation for further remarkable development in the future as comprehensive partners, bringing mutual benefits to each other.

The “Ekiden Run” activity took place with great enthusiasm

With the purpose of commemorating the 50th anniversary of Vietnam-Japan diplomatic relations and desiring to organize a joyful and meaningful activity for BSL staff and their family members, on September 23, 2023, BSL organized the “Family Fun Day” event, which consisted of two activities: the Ekiden Run and the introduction of Japanese Ehon books, along with fun games, book giveaways, and gifts for children on the occasion of the 2023 Mid-Autumn Festival.

Ekiden, also known as long-distance relay race, is a highly popular sport in Japan because it emphasizes teamwork through the coordination of team members during the race. Ekiden represents a beautiful cultural aspect of Japan, embodying the values of camaraderie and the strength of unity. BSL organized the Ekiden race with the intention that it would not only be a physical training activity but also a means to strengthen the bond between family members and among the company’s staff.

The “Ehon Books” activity for children

After the exciting race, BSL organized a special activity called “Ehon Books” to promote the love of reading and provide fun activities and gifts for children on the upcoming Mid-Autumn Festival. Ehon culture is an important part of Japanese culture, characterized by picture books for children. Ehon combines text and illustrations in a delicate way, creating familiar and creative stories that convey educational messages, helping children understand ethics, love, and the value of family. Ehon culture has become an integral part of nurturing creativity and exploration in Japanese children.

The children showed great curiosity and enthusiasm when they were first introduced to Ehon culture. They actively participated in games and asked questions related to Ehon books. BSL members generously gave special gifts, including books and presents, to the children on the occasion of the Mid-Autumn Festival, hoping that these books would open up a colorful and knowledgeable world. It is hoped that this gift will contribute to a meaningful and complete Mid-Autumn Festival for the children. The children were excited and thrilled to own new books and explore the diverse world of stories within them.

“Family Fun Day” is not just an event for families; it is a reflection of the relationship between Vietnam and Japan, through the relationships among the staff members of BSL. “Family Fun Day” not only brings joy and relaxation to everyone but also embodies the spirit of cooperation and unity, creating a positive and creative working environment within the company.
