BSL at the 6th Regional Logistics Forum: Financial Leverage for Sustainable Growth
On August 22 in Hue City, the 6th Regional Logistics Forum, themed “Cross-Border Logistics – A Growth Driver for the North Central and Central Coastal Region”, brought together hundreds of experts, businesses, and regulators from Vietnam and abroad. The event sought practical solutions in infrastructure, human resources, and financing to unlock the region’s logistics potential.
Jointly organized by the Vietnam Logistics Business Association (VLA), Business Forum Magazine, and the Department of Industry and Trade of Hue City, the Forum provided a platform for stakeholders to exchange insights, propose breakthrough initiatives, and identify strategic directions to strengthen competitiveness in the context of deeper global integration.
Cross-border logistics – Opportunities and challenges
With deep-water seaports, international border gates, and the East–West Economic Corridor, the North Central and Central Coastal regions are considered to have strong potential for cross-border logistics. This not only supports local economic growth but also plays a vital role in international supply chains.
At the Forum, experts and policymakers provided a comprehensive overview of the sector. While opportunities are significant, challenges remain, including fragmented infrastructure, high logistics costs, a limited skilled workforce, and the pressing need for digitalization. Addressing these issues requires joint efforts to build holistic solutions that advance Vietnam’s logistics sector toward sustainability and global integration.
Delegates also conducted a field trip to Chan May Port, one of the region’s key deep-water ports, highlighting both the opportunities and urgent need for infrastructure modernization to meet international trade demands.
BSL – Supporting logistics enterprises with financial solutions
Representing BSL at the Forum were Mr. Hoang Van Phuc (Deputy CEO), together with executives from the Business Planning & Promotion Department, Corporate Strategy Department, and Da Nang Branch. In addition to contributing to the panel discussions, BSL shared practical perspectives on financial leasing as an effective financing solution to accelerate logistics growth.

During the discussion, Mr. Hoang Van Phuc underlined the role of financial leasing as a lever for sustainable development in logistics. He noted:
“Globally, the financial leasing market reached USD 1,554 billion in 2023. In logistics alone, financing amounted to approximately USD 106 billion in 2024 and is projected to increase to USD 171 billion by 2033. This clearly demonstrates the essential role of financial leasing in modernizing equipment, adopting advanced technologies, and meeting ESG standards.”
In Vietnam, the potential remains untapped, with the financial leasing market size at only VND 47 trillion – less than 0.4% of GDP. According to Mr. Phuc, the flexibility, specialization, and rapid financing offered by financial leasing make it a suitable solution for logistics companies, particularly SMEs that face difficulties accessing traditional credit.
He emphasized: “BSL is committed to accompanying the logistics business community, offering effective medium- and long-term capital solutions to drive growth and enable deeper integration into global supply chains.”

The 6th Regional Logistics Forum in Hue served as a platform for exchanging experiences and exploring solutions, with the goal of transforming cross-border logistics into a key regional growth driver. In this context, BSL reaffirmed its role as a trusted financial partner, committed to supporting enterprises and advancing the sustainable development of Vietnam’s logistics sector on its path to global integration.
