In the morning of July 19, 2022, BIDV-SuMi TRUST Leasing (BSL) held a meeting of the Board of Members (BoM) in the 2nd Quarter of 2022 to evaluate business activities in the first 6 months and review the action plan for the last 6 months of 2022. After 2 years of social distancing, this is the first face-to-face meeting, taking place in Hanoi with the full attendance of the Board of Members from SuMi TRUST (Japan). 

The BoM discussed, evaluated and recognized positive results in the first 6 months of 2022. Besides, BoM also discussed, reviewed and gave effective orientations and solutions for the last 6 months of the year to ensure the goals in 2022.

The BoM meeting took place on the morning of July 19, 2022 at BSL Headquarters.

The BoM clearly identified 2022 as an important milestone marking the maturity of BSL. This year celebrates the first 5-year journey of BSL in the financial leasing market in Vietnam and is a turning point for the company's long-term development strategy.

At the meeting, Mr. Tanaka Shigeki, Chairman of the BoM shared: “As a participant from the early stages of negotiations to the establishment, I am deeply moved by the maturity of BSL today. I think it is my responsibility to listen to the obstacles and give strong support and accurate advice to BSL in the near future.”

About the journey after 5 years of establishment, BSL Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Nguyen Thieu Son said: “After 5 years, BSL has basically followed the original goal set by BIDV and SuMi TRUST and reached a number of positive achievements such as: building a management system, risk management, organizational model, business model closely with advanced practices; BSL has initially built trust from partners and customers, was honored as "TRUSTED Financial Service Provider" in Golden Dragon Award 2022; building a solid team of key personnel, initially creating a corporate culture and a professional working environment.”

Regarding the goals and orientations after 5 years of establishment, Mr. Nguyen Thieu Son emphasized: "With a fairly solid foundation that has been built along with the knowledge acquired in the market in the past 5 years and in line with the expectation of the two parent banks, BSL has built a new vision with the aspiration to become a leading financial leasing company with specific goals until 2027 when BSL turns 10 years old.”

As both the member and the representative of the two parent banks, the BoM commits to support and share difficulties to accomplish the set goals under the companionship of the two parent banks BIDV and SuMi TRUST.

At the end of the meeting, the representative of the BoM in Vietnam presented souvenirs to the Japanese representative of BoM to express gratitude for their contributions to the development of BSL in the past 5 years.

In the afternoon of July 19, 2022, Mr. Tanaka Shigeki as a member of the BoM, Senior Managing Executive Officer representing SuMi TRUST Bank led the delegation of SuMi TRUST Bank to visit and worked with Mr. Le Ngoc Lam - Chief Executive Officer of Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam (BIDV). At the meeting, the two sides were very happy about the initial results of BSL and discussed the cooperation situation between the two sides, especially the parties shared and expressed their determination to build BSL in accordance with orientation.

In the evening of the same day, BIDV-SuMi TRUST Leasing (BSL) celebrated the 5th Anniversary of its growth and development. BSL was honored to welcome Mr. Le Ngoc Lam, Chief Executive Officer of BIDV to attend, giving a speech and awarding the excellent emulation flag of BIDV. BSL was recognized as a unit with excellent achievements in 05 years of operation, contributing positively and effectively to the cause of building and developing BIDV's system.

Within 5 years of operation, BSL has a strong growth rate with a total rental property value of nearly VND 5800 billion, providing solutions for more than 500 businesses, mainly small and medium-sized, reaching an average growth rate of 80%/year. This award is a great motivation for BSL to strive more, create many clear marks and contribute to the development of BIDV in particular and society in general.
